5 Major Things to Check Out on a Used Mobile Home for Sale

There are many good reasons to choose to live in a mobile home -- and one of the major ones is -- affordability. Living in a mobile home is more affordable than renting and way cheaper than purchasing a stick-built or modular home. Though this type of housing is definitely more affordable, there are five major things to consider when previewing a used mobile home for sale. Here they are: Check for stains in the ceiling. This applies to both new and used homes. The stain is often an orange-yellow or yellow-brown. In fact, a good time to view a mobile home is right after a heavy rain. If you see that the stains are dry even though it has been recently raining, the leaks may have already been fixed. A lot of dark stains may mean the roof has leaking problems. If you see a sagging roof with various dark stains, move on to the next used mobile home for sale. Check the underbelly for sagging as this is often a sign of water leakage because the insulation gets heavy when wet. Make sure the belly wrap fully engulfs the bottom and check to see that the insulation hasn't fallen out. You may have to remove some skirting to see under the mobile home.
